Ozzie Guillen made me scratch my head and curse my TV a few times today, but in the end, after 13 innings and 4 hours in 90 degree heat, the White Sox took two of three from the best team in baseball.
*Terrific bullpen work- 8.2 innings by Carrasco, Linebrink, Jenks, Dotel and Poreda, who gets his first major league win. Only one run allowed, and it was unearned. The hitting needs work, but this is a playoff-caliber bullpen
*Can't say enough about AJ Pierzynski. In the last 24 hours, he just played 22 innings doing the dirty work behind the plate in extreme heat. On top of that, he had some huge hits today, including a go-ahead homerun in the 6th inning and a crucial single in the 13th. The guy definitely earned his paycheck this series.
*Alexei Ramirez's defense is flat out brutal. Ozzie Guillen just called him out in the post game press conference. Look for consequences here, as it's not like Ramirez's bat is setting the world on fire either.
*Tired bullpen. Jose Contreras better bring his A game tomorrow, because the Sox are going to need him to go 7+ innings.
Now on the Cubs, who did the Sox no favors by getting swept in Detroit.
